CORE GROUP MINISTRY
Our home small group bible studies are currently being revitalized and six new groups will be added under the direction of Scott Pretzlav. The first training workshop for leaders and hosts was held in February and there will be more to come. Quarterly seminars are planned to introduce the latest bible study resources and provide ongoing support for meaningful discussion groups. If you are interested in hosting a small group at your home or leading a small group, please contact Scott Pretzlav at (440) 543-1879; pretzls@aol.com. A Core Group is:
…typically composed of 6-15 people who meet together on a regular basis as a means of growing closer to Jesus Christ and to each other as friends.
…capable of becoming a “small church” within the larger church setting. The group leader provides a shepherding ministry while all the group members are encouraged to use their spiritual gifts to develop and maintain a healthy spiritual environment.
…a natural place for new church attendees to become assimilated into the life of the fellowship. We want all of our “fellowship groups” to be known as “open doors” eager to welcome new members.
…likely to become a “home away from home” for those who attend. It is common to see small groups become as close as family and develop meaningful, lifetime friendships.
