Discovery 101-Connecting to Christ

Discovery 101 is a Membership Class for new members as well as all current members of VLC. What does it mean to be a Christian? What does it mean to be Lutheran? This class covers basic Lutheran teachings, your life as a Christian, and gradually addresses more specifically Lutheran beliefs and Lutheran views of the Sacraments. By the end of this class you may receive membership at Valley Lutheran Church and/or be baptized.

Discovery 201-Connecting to Others

The journey to 2nd base is designed to strengthen your maturity in Christ. How do I grow in faith? How do I become a disciple? All current members of Valley Lutheran may receive a “walk to first base” and begin with the Discovery 201 class.

Discovery 301-Connecting to Ministry

Since Membership and Maturity are the basis the foundation of Ministry, Discovery 101 and 201 should be completed before beginning Discovery 301. How can I use my gifts in ministry? What are my gifts? What do I have a heart for? This class helps you identify your unique shape for ministry.
Discovery 401-Connecting to Mission

This leads to the final run for Home. It’s being connected to the mission, to our mission, 'Connecting People to Christ'. How do I witness my faith to others and share the gift of salvation? Discovery 401 is how we can make it home to Christ, and how we can help others to get home, too. No one can block the plate.

Discovery 101

Discover what it means to be a Christian.What it means to be a Lutheran. How can I grow deeper in faith? What does membership involve? Sat. Oct. 23rd, 9am-12pm. Childcare available! Register in the church office.
